Air purifier test: Clean air at the touch of a button!

Air purifiers are finding their way into more and more households. These devices ensure cleaner air with their filter. They are able to filter dust and even smaller particles out of the air.

Depending on the type of filter, air purifiers can also help you combat bad odours.

This article explains which key data and technologies are important for good air purifiers. Among other things, the following questions are answered:

  • Which filters fulfil which purpose?
  • What room size is an air purifier suitable for
  • How much does an air purifier cost
  • Which additional functions make operation easier?

Following the answers to these questions, we take a look at a range of recommended air purifiers. In the list of devices you will then find some for different areas of application, room sizes and other needs.

Let's start with a summary of how it works:

How an air purifier works

The devices use a rotor that sets the air in motion. It moves the air into the inside of the appliance. This is where the filter is located.

FAQs about the Brandson fan
Air purifiers usually use three types of filter: The pre-filter removes coarse dust and can often be cleaned. The activated carbon filter binds odours - ideal for pets or in kitchens. The HEPA filter filters the finest particles such as pollen and is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.

However, most models do not have just one filter installed. There are usually several, which can filter particles of different sizes.

Different filters of an air purifier

The first filter on many models is the Pre-filter. Compared to the other filters, it is rather coarse. Its task is to Dust and similar large dirt particles from the room air.

In principle, finer filters could also do this job. However, fine filters are difficult or impossible to clean. This is different with the coarse pre-filter. With some appliances, it can be individually removed and cleaned. The now clean pre-filter can then be inserted into the appliance for further use.

The pre-filter protects the fine filters from coarse dust and thus increases their service life.

Once the larger particles have been removed from the air, it is passed through the next filters:

Activated carbon filter

An activated charcoal filter is much finer than the pre-filter. It is used wherever odours need to be bound.

In addition to the air purifiers, the activated carbon filters can also be found in these products:

  • Respirator mask
  • Extractor bonnet
  • Ventilation in the car

Models with an activated charcoal filter are particularly suitable for households with lots of pets because of this advantage. By using the filter, odours - such as those from a wet dog - can be combated more effectively.

In my opinion, air purifiers with activated charcoal filters are predestined for large living spaces with an open-plan kitchen. They can be used to capture the odours that arise during cooking. In this way, the living area is less affected.

They are also ideal in shared flats: The flatmates are then less disturbed by their flatmates' culinary experiments.

HEPA filter

The so-called HEPA filters are installed in the more modern appliances. They filter very small particles from the air and capture pollen, among other things.

HEPA stands for "High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter"

Reducing the pollen load in the room air makes HEPA filters interesting for allergy sufferers. Keeping the pollen concentration low in spring and summer can be a challenge when ventilating. A device that can reduce the pollen load is therefore a good idea [ 1 ] .

What makes a good air purifier?

It is not only the type and quality of the filters that is important for product quality. Overall, the following points are important:

  • Performance
  • Filters
  • Power consumption
  • Additional functions
  • Price
  • Design & dimensions

Depending on the location and your personal preferences, some points are more important to you than others. Let's take a closer look at these aspects:

Performance

The power of the air purifier does not refer to the electrical power, as is the case with hair dryers or microwaves. In this case, the power refers to the amount of air that can be filtered per time.

The product descriptions usually contain information on the capacity, which is given in litres or cubic metres of air per hour must be specified.

The output of the appliance determines the size of the room for which it is suitable. Let's assume you find an appliance with a capacity of 50m³ per hour. That's 50,000 litres of air every 60 minutes. At first glance, this figure seems quite large. But if we assume a 20m² room with a ceiling height of 3m, then that's already 60m³ of air.

In addition, the air purifier does not filter out the particles in the air neatly in sequence. The entire room air must therefore pass through the filter several times to ensure proper filtration.

Please note that this calculator only provides a value for orientation. The power required will vary depending on the layout of the room and the ceiling height.

Filters

We have looked at which filters are available in the section on how an air purifier works a little further up the page.

When making a purchase decision, it is important that you choose the right filter for the intended location. If the aim is to reduce bad odours, among other things, then the activated charcoal filter is the right choice. If the filter is also intended to capture pollen, then a HEPA filter should be installed.

While the pre-filters on many models can be removed, cleaned and reused, this is not the case with the other filters. Activated charcoal filters and HEPA filters need to be replaced after a certain period of use. For this reason, it is worth taking a look at the prices of the filters that the manufacturer offers for replacement.

Power consumption

It is always a good idea to check how much energy the appliance requires before you buy it. An air purifier may run for several hours a day and do so relatively unnoticed. Check whether an energy-saving appliance is not more worthwhile, even if the purchase costs are higher.

While the hourly and daily costs are reasonable, the monthly and annual costs can definitely make a difference to the purchase.

So if an energy-saving model costs a few euros more, it is often money well spent. It is particularly worthwhile if the air purifier is used frequently and for a long time.

Additional functions

The additional functions of air purifiers are very important when it comes to making a purchase decision. There are a relatively large number of models that offer decent performance and have good filters. This is why the additional functions often tip the scales when it comes to choosing between different models.

Here is an overview of the most important functions:

  • Speed levels
  • Timer
  • Measurement and display of air quality
  • Automatic switch on/off depending on air quality
  • Notification of upcoming filter replacement
  • SmartHome connection
  • Night mode

Let's take a closer look at the individual additional functions and analyse the applications in which they are important.

Speed levels

In my opinion, this function is absolutely essential. Being able to determine the speed of the air flow is practical for several reasons. On the one hand, the filter does not always have to run at the highest level; if a lower level is sufficient, energy can be saved.

On the other hand, the devices are louder when they run at a higher level. If you want to operate the air purifier overnight in the bedroom, for example, a high volume will be annoying.

Fortunately, almost all models are equipped with a speed control option. This allows you to operate the appliance at a low level and at a correspondingly low volume. On the one hand, this is an advantage in the bedroom. On the other hand, louder noise can also be annoying when relaxing on the couch or enjoying music.

Timer

It can be practical to run the appliance on a timer in one way or another. All you have to do is switch it on and then decide how long the air purifier should run.

Measurement and display of air quality

If the appliance measures and displays the air quality, this will help you to operate it efficiently. This is the only way to recognise when it makes sense to switch the air purifier on or off.

One of the most frequently used units for the degree of air purity is the AQI. This stands for "Air Quality Index".

Automatic switch on/off depending on air quality

In my opinion, this function is one that makes a model really convenient. Such devices not only measure the air quality, but also react to it independently. If poor air quality is detected, the appliance switches on and starts filtering. As soon as the air quality is right again, the filtering stops.

Models that react independently to changes in air purity basically only need to be connected to the mains; after that you hardly need to worry about them.

Notification of an upcoming filter change

HEPA and activated carbon filters should be replaced after some time. It therefore makes sense to give the appliance the ability to inform the user as soon as a filter change is due.

If the air purifier notifies you automatically (e.g. with a notification LED on the housing) when it needs to be changed, you no longer have to do this. Otherwise, you would have to make a note of when the appliance was purchased or when it was last replaced and how long the current filter has been in operation.

SmartHome connection

The selection of smart air purifiers is still not particularly large. However, brands such as Philips, Dyson and Xiaomi already offer models that can be connected to a smartphone app via Wi-Fi.

This has a number of advantages in terms of effective utilisation. For example, measuring the temperature, air quality and humidity over time can be informative. This data allows you to draw conclusions about how to ventilate more efficiently.

Night mode

A special night mode ensures the quietest possible operation. Setting up an air purifier in the bedroom is generally not a bad idea. After all, that's where you spend a lot of your time. However, no loud device should disturb your sleep there. That's what night mode is for.

However, even models with night mode are not automatically quiet. You should therefore still pay attention to the manufacturer's volume specifications.

What does a good air purifier cost?

The price depends primarily on the performance. Air purifiers cost more on average for larger rooms. It is therefore not possible to generalise about where the price limits lie. The following table shows approximate price ranges depending on the number of square metres:

Square metrePrice
0-40m²50-100€
40-100m²100-160€
100-150²160-280€
>150m²> 280€

Although performance is decisive, it is not solely responsible for the price. The additional functions, design, brand, etc. also play a role. This table can therefore only serve as a guide.

Recommended air purifiers in the test

Now that we have looked at how they work and the individual purchase criteria, let's take a look at specific examples.

I have compiled the following list as objectively as possible. Nevertheless, I cannot and will not rule out the possibility that subjective impressions on my part have also been included. Nevertheless, I hope that this list will give you a useful overview of the air purifier market.

For smaller rooms

Levoit Core Mini - Compact air purifier with fragrance function

Advantages

  • Very quiet operation (ideal for bedrooms)
  • Compact and space-saving
  • Aromatherapy function
  • Effective air purification for allergies and animal hair
  • Simple operation and filter change
  • Energy efficient (only 7 watts)

Disadvantages

  • Filters quite expensive to buy
  • Not suitable for larger rooms
  • Highest level audibly loud

The Levoit Core Mini impressed me with its Compactness and strong performance surprises. What at first glance looks like a small device for the bedside table is surprisingly effective in practice - especially in smaller rooms up to around 15 m². It is not only interesting for allergy sufferers or pet households, but also when odours are an issue - for example from cat litter trays, smoke or cooking fumes.

Small, quiet, effective

The device runs on three levelswhere the first is practically not audible (25 dB). Even at the highest level, the noise level remains within a comfortable range according to user experience - albeit noticeably louder. This makes it ideal for bedrooms or offices where quiet operation is important. The Low energy consumption - With only 7 watts, the Levoit is very economical in continuous operation.

The HEPA filter effectively cleans the air of pollen, fine dust, animal hair and other allergens. I was particularly impressed by the feedback in connection with animal odours - many report a significant improvement in the odour climate, especially in households with cats or smokers.

Aromatherapy function - nice extra

A small gimmick is the Scent padonto which you can add a few drops of essential oils. It is not a fragrance bomb, but it does provide a pleasant room fragrance - a nice addition, especially in closed rooms without windows.

Operation & suitability for everyday use

Operation is extremely simple: just press a button to switch between the three fan speeds. The Filter change is uncomplicated - however, you should know that the filters should be changed every 4-6 months, which can add up over time. The display reminds you in good time when it is time.

Who is it suitable for?

The levoite is ideal for:

  • Allergy sufferers
  • Pet households
  • Small flats or offices
  • People with sensitive sleep
  • Anyone looking for discreet, low-maintenance air purification

However, it is not suitable for very large rooms or if you want to quickly remove strong odours (e.g. cigarette smoke in small, closed rooms) - this is where it reaches its limits.

Conclusion

A Compact, quiet and reliable air purifierwhich scores with its simple operation, effective cleaning and flavour function. A real benefit, especially in small rooms. If you're expecting a lot of technology or smart functions, you won't find them here - but if you're looking for a solid appliance with no frills, the Levoit is the right choice.

About the Philips Air+ app schedules can be set up, filter status can be viewed and the device can also be integrated via Alexa or Siri. A practical addition is that the app connects via Bluetooth and can even display pollen levels at the location - based on internet data, not its own sensors.

Simple operation, but no automatic mode

Operation directly on the device is simple: three levels can be switched through manually - snooze, medium, turbo. A real Automatic mode with air quality measurement is missing here, however - this is only reserved for the higher model series.

One small drawback: although the app displays a "filter level", this is probably only based on operating hours and not on a real sensor measurement. Nevertheless, the system works very reliably overall.

Conclusion

The Philips 600 series is the perfect introduction to the world of air purifiers - compact, Quiet, energy efficient and absolutely sufficient for smaller rooms. If you want a smart control system but don't need live measurement of the air quality, you get a well-rounded overall package with a high convenience factor.

Blueair relies on a HEPASilent technologywhich combines two things: mechanical filtration (HEPA) and electrostatic charging. Bosch Air 4000 air purifier - Efficient, smart and quiet

Advantages

  • Highly effective air purification (HEPA filter)
  • Particularly quiet in sleep mode
  • Automatic adjustment through Smart Sensor
  • Intuitive operation via touchscreen & app
  • Real-time display of air quality (LED colour code)
  • Modern, compact design

Disadvantages

  • Slightly audible in normal operation
  • Filters must be replaced regularly

The first impression? Simple, modern, elegant. The appliance blends seamlessly into my living environment without being obtrusive.

The air quality detection via the coloured LED ring is particularly impressive. The air purifier communicates with light, so to speak - a quick glance is all it takes and I know what the air quality is like. Blue signals: Everything is in the green zone. If it turns orange or red, the appliance starts automatically - thanks to the integrated Smart Sensor, which adjusts the power depending on the air quality.

The air is noticeably fresher, and not just according to the display. A real game changer, especially in the allergy season. The Bosch Air 4000 reliably filters pollen, fine dust and even animal hair out of the air. I notice this particularly in the morning: less sneezing, less irritated eyes. For me, this is a clear sign that the appliance is working.

The Bosch also impresses when it comes to operation. The touch panel responds quickly, the app control is easy to set up and works reliably - ideal if you don't want to go straight to the appliance. Even better: the sleep mode. I use it every night and the Air 4000 remains pleasantly quiet even during light sleep. In normal operation, a low humming noise can be heard - not annoying, but audible. On the other hand, the operating noise is almost imperceptible in sleep mode.

The Bosch Air 4000 also scores highly in terms of energy efficiency. My power consumption does not increase noticeably, even during prolonged operation - an important criterion, especially in times of rising energy prices.

Conclusion

For me, the Bosch Air 4000 is a well thought-out and powerful appliance that dispenses with unnecessary gimmicks and concentrates on its core competence: Clean air - reliable, quiet and easy to operate. A clear recommendation, especially for allergy sufferers and families with children.

Philips air purifier 800 series - A real wonder weapon

Advantages

  • Very quiet operation, even in automatic mode
  • Effective air purification - ideal for allergy sufferers
  • Also filters unpleasant odours
  • Simple control via app or display
  • Modern and high-quality design
  • Practical time control via app

Disadvantages

  • App with slight time offset for data
  • Automatic mode sometimes reduces too quickly
  • Odour filtering not 100 % effective

After just a few hours, the air in my living room was noticeably fresher. As an allergy sufferer in particular, I quickly notice when there is dust or pollen in the air - with the Philips 800, the problem has virtually disappeared.

What I particularly like is that the device works with a Combi filter made of HEPA NanoProtect and activated carbonwhich not only reliably removes fine dust and allergens from the air, but also filters unpleasant odours. This is a real advantage, especially in households with animals or after cooking. I have two dogs, and although I ventilate regularly, the air was often heavy. Since the Philips has been in use, the room climate is much more pleasant.

The Automatic mode works amazingly well: the air purifier constantly measures the air quality and adjusts its performance in real time. Particularly pleasant - the Philips 800 remains extremely quiet. I even leave it running in the bedroom at night without it disturbing me. Even in automatic mode, it is barely audible. For me, that's a real highlight.

In terms of design, the appliance also makes quite an impression. It has a solid, high-quality appearance and fits easily into any home with its modern look. Operation is self-explanatory - whether via the clear display or conveniently via app. Speaking of the app: control via smartphone works reliably. Although there is sometimes a slight delay in data transfer, everything runs smoothly overall. I find the Schedule functionwhich I can use, for example, to start the air purifier automatically in the morning before I get up.

One small point of criticism: The automatic mode sometimes regulates down too quickly - for example when the room has been aired or cooked for a short time. The reaction could be a little gentler here, as the room is not "cleaned" in 30 seconds. Nevertheless, the appliance works very intelligently and efficiently overall.

Conclusion: The Philips 900 series air purifier is an all-round successful appliance - especially for households with allergy sufferers, pets or simply the desire for clean indoor air. It impresses with its powerful performance, whisper-quiet operation and clever app control. For me, an investment that is absolutely worth it.

COWAY air purifier for allergy sufferers

Advantages

  • Extremely quiet operation in sleep mode (20 dB)
  • Very low power consumption (from 2 watts)
  • Sensitive air sensor, fast response
  • No WLAN/app requirement - simple operation
  • Compact design, high-quality finish
    Filter comparatively cheap to buy

Disadvantages

  • Power cable a little short
  • Slight vibration possible without rubber feet
  • No timer or remote control

The COWAY air purifier has proven to be an unobtrusive but incredibly effective companion in my everyday life - especially at night. What sets it apart for me is the combination of minimalist technology and absolute silence. In the Silent mode the appliance is so quiet that you wonder several times whether it is running at all - until you feel the air: clearer, fresher, noticeably purified.

For me as an allergy sufferer, that was the decisive factor. Dust, pollen or even light odours such as from candles or pets are effectively removed by the filter combination of HEPA and activated carbon. I was particularly impressed by the sensitive sensorEven the smallest changes - e.g. caused by a lit stick of incense - are recognised and the appliance reacts promptly by increasing the fan power.

Another strong argument is the Energy efficiency. In continuous operation in sleep mode, the COWAY consumes just 2 watts - making it the perfect bedroom air purifier. At the same time, the device remains stable, vibration-free and pleasantly unobtrusive - I even have it right next to my bed.

The design? Simple, modern, compact. I chose the white version, which blends in beautifully with my interior. The Switching off the air quality display is possible without any problems - only a tiny operating light remains on at night, which can even be covered if necessary.

What I particularly like is that the air purifier comes Without app or cloud connection. No WLAN, no tracking - just press a button and it runs. In times of over-engineered household appliances, this is almost refreshing. The technology is well thought out, not overloaded and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

The only drawback is that the power cable could be a little longer - but this can easily be solved with an extension. And if you're standing on a very quiet floor, you might want to stick rubber feet underneath to prevent minimal vibrations. But that's really complaining on a high level.

Conclusion: The COWAY is a honest, efficient and whisper-quiet air purifierwhich impresses above all with its simplicity, performance and suitability for everyday use. Ideal for allergy sufferers, for people with sleeping problems - or simply for anyone who wants good air without a lot of technology.

WINIX 5300 air purifier-2 Allergy sufferers with H13 HEPA air filter

Advantages

  • High-quality filter combination (HEPA + activated carbon)
  • Good air purification for dust, odours and allergens
  • Simple filter change
  • Quiet night mode with reduced light
  • Robust technology, simple operation
  • Ideal for small and medium-sized rooms

Disadvantages

  • It is not possible to switch off the air quality display
  • No remote control included
  • Instructions incomplete, information online necessary

The WINIX 5300-2 was my attempt to enter the world of high-quality air purifiers with a good price-performance ratio - and I was pleasantly surprised for the most part. What immediately stands out: The H13 HEPA filter in combination with the Activated carbon filter with granulate does a really good job. Especially in everyday life with pets or in an urban environment, the air is noticeably improved - it appears fresher, freer from dust and also from unpleasant odours.

I find the Air quality display with three colours (red, orange, blue), which gives me a visual indication of how clean the room air is at all times. The Automatic mode works well and regulates the fan speed depending on the measured load. In the Night mode The noise level drops noticeably and only a small light remains active. Perfect for the bedroom.

Another positive aspect is that the Filter change is quick and easy. Transport within the home is also easy thanks to the integrated carrying handle simple. The appliance is uncomplicated to operate No WLAN, no appbut real, robust button control.

On the downside, the instructions are really poor - I only found important instructions for cleaning the carbon filter on the manufacturer's US website. A remote control would also have been useful, but is not included. The fan is pleasantly quiet at the lowest level, but borderline audible at level 1 for quiet living rooms - anyone expecting absolute silence should check carefully here. The night light cannot be switched off either and may need to be masked.

Despite minor weaknesses, the WINIX 5300-2 impresses with its solid technology, good air purification and particularly high suitability for everyday use. An absolutely sensible purchase for allergy sufferers, pet owners and city dwellers.

BLUEAIR air purifier for large rooms

Advantages

  • Very good cleaning performance (also for allergies)
  • App control and scheduling possible
  • Quiet night mode
  • Ideal for large rooms up to 172 m²/h
  • Modern, high-quality design

Disadvantages

  • Replacement filters difficult to obtain in Europe
  • External pre-filter - unhygienic to touch
  • Individual cases of technical errors in automatic mode

The BLUEAIR air purifier I was intrigued by two things in particular: its wide coverage of up to 172 m² in just one hour and the combination of Powerful cleaning and smart ease of use. I tested the appliance in a medium-sized living room - and after just a few days I noticed a much more pleasant air quality.

The BLUEAIR is extremely efficient, especially when it comes to animal hair or dust in the air. Odours are also noticeably reduced. A side effect: my chronic cough, which I often had in the mornings, improved significantly - even though I have cats in the household. So it's definitely a hot candidate for allergy sufferers.

In the Night mode the air purifier runs almost silently. I was able to sleep without a humming noise or light disturbing me. The app control works well - I was able to set times, change modes or check the status of the air quality, all from the couch. A practical feature, especially when you're out of the house during the day.

The design and workmanship are also of a high standard. The air purifier looks solid, modern and blends in well with the interior design. BUT - and here comes the sticking point: The pre-filter is fitted externallywhich means that dust particles collect on the outside. So when you move the appliance, you touch the dirtiest part - a rather unfavourable solution for allergy sufferers.

Another serious disadvantage: Replacement filters are sometimes difficult to obtain in Europe. Some customers even report that they have returned the appliance because they could not find a replacement filter. Although this seems to be improving in some countries, this uncertainty is particularly problematic for a product that is designed for long-term use.

Conclusion: The BLUEAIR air purifier delivers powerful performance and modern app controlbut is not without its weaknesses. A very good choice for larger rooms - if you're prepared to be patient when it comes to filters.

Powerful, smart, suitable for allergy sufferers
Powerful air purifier - with weaknesses in spare parts
The BLUEAIR cleans up to 172 m² in just one hour - great for large rooms, but with drawbacks in terms of spare parts availability.
FAQs about the product
Up to 172 m² in one hour - ideal for large living rooms, lofts or offices.
Yes, operating modes, schedules and air quality can be conveniently controlled via the BLUEAIR app.
Almost silent in night mode, slight wind noise at the highest settings - but pleasantly quiet overall.
Unfortunately bad. Many filters are only available in the UK or USA. Some German dealers stock spare parts, but they are expensive.
Yes, changing the filter is easy. However, the external pre-filter collects dust - be careful when wearing it.
In rare cases, continuous operation at level 1 occurs - in this case a reset or customer service contact usually helps.

Philips PureProtect 3200 SeriesIntelligent Air Purifier

Advantages

  • Very quiet in operation, especially in night mode
  • High cleaning performance (up to 130 m²)
  • Modern control via app incl. schedule & sensors
  • High-quality design, suitable for living spaces
  • Easy maintenance and filter cleaning
  • Helpful for allergies (pollen, fine dust)

Disadvantages

  • Light control not very finely adjustable
  • Particle display directly on the device not very useful
  • Relatively high purchase price

The Philips PureProtect 3200 Series is a true representative of the new generation of air purifiers - and you realise this from the moment you unpack it. The design, performance and controls are well thought out and suitable for everyday use. Particularly important for me: Quiet, effective and easy to control - and that is exactly what the device fulfils.

With its Two filter inserts (top and bottom), the air purifier reliably cleans the room air - visibly, perceptibly and comprehensibly via the Coloured light ring and the information in the Air+ App. There I can not only see the air quality (inside & outside), but also the temperature and humidity. The Automatic function Auto+ regulates the power precisely - for me it starts reliably, for example when cooking or when there is pollen flying outside.

The Night mode is barely audible and ideal for the bedroom. The light can be switched off completely, as can the beeps. Particularly practical: I use a Timetableso that the air purifier runs for an hour before going to bed, for example - super convenient via app.

Also the Design convinces. Instead of a classic plastic housing, the Philips looks more like a piece of furniture in a soft beige colour. It blends in and doesn't disrupt the room. Cleaning is also easy: the filters can be vacuumed out and the app indicates when they need to be changed. One point deduction: the Light settings are not very finely graduated - A more individualised regulation would have been nice here.

And another shortcoming: the Particle counter on the device provides data, but no real added value. I prefer to look in the app anyway, everything is clearly organised there.

Conclusion: The Philips PureProtect 3200 delivers the complete package: Quiet, powerful and intelligently controllable. It looks good, works reliably - and has actually reduced my allergy symptoms. If you're prepared to invest a little more, you get modern air purification at the highest level.

Smart, stylish, allergy-friendly
Quiet, smart, elegant - Philips 3200 sets new standards
The Philips PureProtect 3200 combines smart air purification and cosy design - ideal for modern households with high demands.
FAQs about the product
The Philips 3200 is suitable for rooms up to 130 m² - including large living rooms or open-plan kitchen areas.
Barely audible in night mode, very pleasant even in automatic mode - ideal for sensitive ears.
Yes, the display and light rim can be switched off completely via the app or the touch surface.
Either directly on the appliance using touch buttons or via the Philips Air+ app with timer, sensor display and fan control.
Depending on usage, about once a year. The app indicates when cleaning or replacement is necessary.
Rather not. The display on the device is difficult to see and provides little practical information - the app is much more helpful.

Conclusion

Air purifiers help to improve air quality in a practical way. Depending on the model, they even allow air quality to be measured and tracked.

An air purifier captures particles from the air and ensures, among other things, that you don't have to dust as often. Models with a HEPA filter can reduce pollen pollution and those with an activated carbon filter can reduce odours.
